The “Gusta l'arancione 3.0” project approved by the Ministry
A significant success for the project, ranked 3rd out of 424 submitted under Ministerial Decree of 13 December 2010.
On 28 August, the Municipality of San Leo, as lead partner, received from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Department for Regional Affairs, Tourism and Sport, the notification that, on the basis of the approved ranking, the project “Gusta l'arancione 3.0” submitted under Ministerial Decree of 13 December 2010 “Projects for the creation and dissemination of innovative services for tourist users” was approved for funding, ranking third out of 424 projects submitted.
A result that fills us with pride and confirms the strength of the network of the Orange Flag Villages Association.
29 municipalities and an investment of 1 million Euros
The project has been joined by 29 Member municipalities of the Association from various Italian regions (San Leo as lead partner, Acquaviva Picena, Anghiari, Bolsena, Camerino, Corinaldo, Dolceacqua, Etroubles, Frosolone, Gavoi, Lari, Leonessa, Mercatello sul Metauro, Montagnana, Montecassiano, Montelupone, Morano Calabro, Ostra, Palena, Pievebovigliana, Pigna, Ripatransone, San Ginesio, Sant’Agata di Puglia, Sardara, Soave, Sutera, Urbisaglia and Verucchio) and the total planned investment amounts to over 1 million Euros, of which 224,000.00 is the contribution made available by the Ministry through the Ministerial Decree of 13 December 2010, while the remaining share is split between the cost of the staff assigned to the project by each Municipality and the investment made by the tourism supply-chain businesses that will be involved in the project by the Administrations.
A technology project to connect the finest offerings of our "orange villages" and create genuine "travel experiences"
The project is part of a broader tourism development strategy launched in 2009 with the implementation of the project sponsored by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers named “Gusta l’Arancione“, conceived by the Cooperative Society “Il Balcone dei Sibillini” and implemented within the Marche region with the aim of creating a value-added tourist offer starting from the enhancement of typical products and food and wine.
“Gusta l’Arancione 3.0” is a national-level integration and extension of the previous project, with the aim of creating a “System of the Typical” that represents a resource, made up of local knowledge and production traditions, capable of responding more effectively to new market trends. All this also helps to foster the sustainability of typical products, highlighting their characteristics and emphasising their connection with local culture.
With the “Gusta l’Arancione 3.0” the Municipalities that have joined the project will be able to equip themselves with advanced technological tools, designed to make both the promotion and the enjoyment of the rich heritage available to the “network” of Orange Flag towns more effective.
